Within the area of biological waste air treatment, single-level biofilters were used in order to reduce mainly odour emissions. In order to use the biological cleaning capacity optimally, the flow through the filter has to take place evenly.
Because of the size of such a filter, the simultaneous monitoring of the whole surface is a problem. The present work is concerned with the development of a monitoring method for biofilters. With the help of infrared-measurements, uneven flow through the filter and furthermore constructional faults can be detected and eliminated. Different single level biofilters of several waste treatment plants were examined. Therefore, various measurements have been done over the period of half a year in order to monitor the behaviour of the biofilters as well as the influences of the environmental conditions on the infrared thermography itself. Some of the investigations and results are presented and the possibilities and limits of the infrared thermography for the monitoring of single level biofilters are pointed out.

In the context of the European Climate Law (EU) 2021/1119), the Governance Regulation (EU) 2018/1999 and the Nature Restoration Regulation (EU) 2024/1991, the KAnG came into force on July 1, 2024.
Transformatives Klimarecht: Raum, Zeit, Gesellschaft

This article contends that climate law should be conceived as inherently transformative in a double sense. The law not only guides the necessary transformation of economy and society, but is itself undergoing transformation.
