Contraries in biogenic waste have been a well-known phenomenon since the source separation began about 25 years ago. The various stakeholders influencing the Content of contraries in biogenic waste are discussed.
The content of the impurities depends among other things on the settlement structure, the pre-collection and the pre-check. Negative consequences on the quality of end products are likely to occur if the amountof contraries is above 3 %. With a proportion of up to 60 % of all contraries, plastics are clearly the most predominant contaminants. They are followed by metals, textile fabrics, glass and ceramics. The current legislation regarding contraries in biogenic waste is described for Europe, with special regards to the situations in Germany and Austria. When it comes to the reduction of contraries the state-of-the-art within the composting plants are the stages of manual sorting, screening and wind sifting. Finally recommendations are provided for all participating players.

Der Klimawandel nimmt besorgniserregende Ausmaße an. Zugleich wird klimaneutralität versprochen. Im Paris-Abkommen nur vage in Aussicht gestellt, soll ausweislich Art. 2 des europäischen Klimagesetzes für die Union im Jahr 2050 und nach § 3 Abs. 2 KSG für Deutschland bereits 2045 bilanziell Klimaneutralität erreicht sein.
