Regenerative Energie
At the end of 2000, a pilot composting plant for the treatment of biodegradable market waste was built at the city dumping site in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. Thus, the composting start-up phase was launched.
The existing pilot plant will be gradually adjusted to an operational phase. The following paper will describe the composting start-up phase in 2001 and in extracts the evaluation of the different influencing factors for a long term self sustainable plant operation. On the basis of the evaluation, modification and optimisation approaches for the operational scheme at the plant were developed and integrated into the practice. The aim in the long run will be to establish an economically sustainable composting plant and to integrate it into the waste disposal system of Phnom Penh.

Stand der Pumpspeicher in Deutschland 2025

Infolge des Ausbaus der Stromerzeugung aus erneuerbaren Energien ist ein erhöhter Speicherbedarf im Stromverbundnetz notwendig. Hierdurch steigt die Bedeutung von Pumpspeichern als bis auf weiteres einzige Möglichkeit für eine großmaßstäbliche Stromspeicherung.

Im Rahmen der Revitalisierung des Pumpspeicherwerks Happurg haben im September 2024 auch die Arbeiten zur Sanierung des zugehörigen Oberbeckens begonnen.
