Investigating the rotting progress of a rebuilt and upgraded composting plant within the unit operations as well as performing a detailed water balance on both the batches and the entire plant are main focus points.
Furthermore, the operational consumption of electricity for the individual plant components was determined. Detailed mass and water balances associated with the degradation of organic matter were analyzed for five full batches. After 14 days of intensive static rotting, the organic component of the total solids was reduced from around 65 % to around 56 % in the raw compost. This corresponds to a degree of degradation of nearly 34 %. Two separate batches were analyzed to gather information on flow rates and runoff characteristics of leachate. Water introduced for re-moistening purposes was less well stored with increasing rotting times. The overall energy consumption was about 23 kWh/(Mg input).

Die innerstaatliche Umsetzung des Pariser Klimaschutzübereinkommens

Like all public international law treaties, the Paris Climate Accords rely on national law for their implementation. The success of the agreement therefore depends, to a large extent, on the stepstaken or not taken by national governments and legislators as well as on the instruments and mechanisms chosen for this task. Against this background, the present article compares different approaches to the implementation of the Paris Agreement, using court decisions as a means to assess their (legal) effectiveness.
