Storage facility private households: Utilizing unexploited potential

Electrical and electronic equipment that contains private data, such as mobile phones or notebooks, is often stored in private households. Owners hesitate to recycle these devices, as they fear for the safety of their data.

The devices need to be collected and reused before they become technically obsolete. A warehousing of devices in private households has to be avoided. Therefore, the Eco-Innovation project 'RUN†(ReUse Notebook) aims to collect, refurbish and remarket notebooks from private households and as well as small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In order to dispel concerns about the safety of data, RUN offers secure data deletion and data related service add-ons to owners.
